What is UDEXION and what exams does it cover?

UDEXION is an online adaptive permit exam prep platform for state-based licensing, traffic safety, and compliance exams. It covers driving permit tests, professional licensing exams, and state-required courses, organised by state so learners can find exactly what applies to their location.

How does adaptive learning work on UDEXION?

UDEXION tracks your quiz results and identifies topics where you answer incorrectly or struggle. Your study path is automatically adjusted to spend more time on those weak areas and less on topics you have already demonstrated understanding of, making your study sessions more efficient.

What is the free diagnostic test?

Before you start studying, you take a short free test that shows exactly which topics you already know and which ones need work. Your study plan is built around the gaps, not a generic course outline.

What is Exam Builder and do I need it?

Exam Builder lets you create unlimited practice exams filtered by topic, section, and difficulty, plus a timed mock-exam mode that simulates real test conditions. Your course includes guided practice to teach the material — Exam Builder is for unlimited repetition and drilling once you've learned it.

How is UDEXION different from other permit exam prep courses?

Unlike traditional one-size-fits-all courses, UDEXION uses adaptive learning to personalise your study path. It surfaces weak areas through smart quizzes, lets you track your readiness score in real time, and organises all courses by state so you only see content relevant to your exam requirements.

Can I study on my phone?

Yes. UDEXION works in any modern web browser on desktop, tablet, and mobile, so you can work through lessons and practice quizzes wherever you are. Your progress and readiness score stay in sync across every device you use.

How do practice quizzes help me prepare?

Practice quizzes use exam-style questions that mirror your actual test format. As you answer, UDEXION flags the topics you miss most and feeds them back into your study path, so each session focuses on the areas most likely to hold back your score.

What is a readiness score?

Your readiness score is a real-time estimate of how prepared you are for your exam, based on completed topics and quiz performance. It updates as you study, so you know when you have covered your weak areas and are ready for exam day.

How many questions are on the California permit test?

Applicants under 18 answer 46 multiple choice questions and need 38 correct (80 percent) to pass. Applicants 18 and older answer 36 questions. State agencies can update these numbers, so it is worth a quick check on the DMV site before test day. Udexion's course covers the full range of topics the exam is drawn from regardless of the exact count.

How old do you have to be to get a learner's permit in California?

California allows learner's permit applications starting at 15 years and 6 months. Udexion's course is built for first time permit applicants at that age and up.

Do I need to complete driver's education before taking the California permit test?

Requirements around driver's education vary by age and situation in California. Check current requirements on the DMV site, since Udexion prepares you for the knowledge exam itself rather than driver's education enrollment rules.

Where do I take the California permit test?

The California permit knowledge test is administered at DMV field offices. Appointments and walk in availability vary by location, so check your nearest office before planning your visit.

Does Udexion cover everything in the California Driver Handbook?

Yes. The diagnostic and the California course are built directly from the topics covered in the California Driver Handbook, and the Exam Builder generates unlimited practice questions across all of them.

California DMV Permit Test Prep, Built Around What You Actually Don't Know Yet

California's learner's permit exam is a computer based, multiple choice test on the rules covered in the California Driver Handbook, and it is graded pass or fail with no partial credit for topics you understand well. Most learners study by grinding through random question sets that treat every topic equally, which means time gets spent evenly across material some of them already know while a handful of real gaps stay hidden until test day. Udexion starts differently: a short, free diagnostic identifies exactly which topics need work first, then builds a California specific study course around that.
